Einige Monate sind seit dem letzten Abenteuer vergangen. Die Heldentruppe ging bis auf Lina Inverse und Gourry Gabriev wieder getrennte Wege und jeder ging eigenen Geschäften nach. Der Zufall will es und die beiden treffen erneut auf Amelia, die im Nachbarland ihres Königreiches als Diplomatin unterwegs ist, sowie auf den Chimären Zelgadis Graywords. Nach einem tumultartigen Aufeinandertreffen und einigen Missverständnissen kommen sie wieder einmal als Gruppe zusammen. Diesmal will die Bande Zelgadis dabei helfen, die Koreija Bibel zu finden, mit der er hofft, seine alte menschliche Gestalt wieder annehmen zu können. Obendrein treffen sie auf einen Priester namens Xellos, der ihnen dabei helfen will, an eine Kopie dieser Bibel zu kommen. Doch dieser Priester bringt mehr Ärger als Nutzen.
