This is a test encode for my personal archive.
Keeping 180~GB is far better than 925 GB.
Just reencoded all Cardfight series I can find up-to-date.
I can update this with the current and upcoming releases in the future.
Source:
TV Series: Horriblesubs, Subsplease, [S1PH3R], Erai-raws compilation
Movie: https://n.acg2.icu/view/866650
Movie subtitles are MTL (not mine, coming directly from the release)
Fastflix SVT AV1
Preset: 7
BR: 10 bit yuv420p10le
QM: crf
CRF: 24
Audio: AAC/Stereo/Preset 3/192k
Subtitles: Only English (PGS+ASS (not edited anyway))
vsync: passthrough
Let me know if you see any issues.
I'll seed couple days and than have to shutdown for over a week. So if anyone wants this, grab and seed...
> Movie subtitles are MTL
should've just left the movie out, then
> Preset: 7
so it's going to look awful, nice
next time i would consider doing some research on the codec and how to get a decent size-quality balance before just using the defaults of whatever program you're using to encode
Then do a better job, handle with your knowledge and do not harass the amateurs?
BTW, try donating for my University of Encoding fees...
Salute
@cosmic
I'm just reencoding for smaller sizes. All used tools (Handbrake/Fastflix) suggested by (probably) amateurs from av1 weeb edition discord.
I'm not an encoder but an application user.
If you're genuinely trying to ask people to donate for your so-called "University of Encoding fees," then you owe it to them (and to yourself) to actually learn how encoding works.
Using Handbrake or Fastflix with default settings, setting SVT-AV1 to preset 7, and calling it a day doesn’t make you an encoder, it makes you someone blindly repackaging content with no understanding of what the tools are doing, except it's worse as you're doing it in a way that actively harms the quality.
Claiming you're “just an application user” while also asking for money implies either dishonesty or a lack of self-awareness. You don’t get to play the amateur card and ask for donations for your "university." Pick one.
People aren’t criticizing you for trying, they’re criticizing you for not caring enough to do it right, and for expecting compensation while doing it wrong.
You want to be taken seriously? Then do the work. Learn the codec. Test the settings. Own the mistakes.
And for the record, that jab at AV1 weeb edition is unnecessary. Our community laid the groundwork for AV1 adoption for years, testing and figuring things out from scratch so others wouldn’t have to. If we were just a bunch of self-centered people, we wouldn’t have helped so many new encoders get up to speed or welcomed them under our wing.
What you're doing is nothing but a simple cover up.
You're not criticizing about my knowledge level, being an amateur (card???), or the "university" you already know that a joke.
Not your ground to try to be imitative talking about people, you can rest your case and leave off.
What grinded your teeth is that you saw the post and said "I know how to read, I know this is a test encode, I know this one shared as is, but I don't want to see a donation link there, I'm better than this, this one don't deserve." You just didn't want to accept it as is or wanted to help or show a way.
You just couldn't say "yes, at least this one collected the lot in one place."
"For the record", there is no "jab" for the AV1 weeb edition. It was an info. If I thought they were self-centered etc. I didn't mention them. Sorry to see you can't figure out if this one mentions that for their basic suggestion. You can't accept there is someone can use an application and share the results.
You can hold your horses, nobody will be rich after asking donations.
PS: I like your encodes btw. But I'm not an encoder, nor have the quality equipment to handle these kind of things as needed. So no, I can't learn everything from the start. But I understand your point, you want to draw your line where you're good at or whatever the reason. Issue is your first touch. Just keep commenting "oh this is sh*t" is nothing but an eyesore. You can ignore the share fully as "I know it's sh*t, I don't have time" and life will find it's way in an easy manner.
Sorry, I'm sure you don't just have greedy intentions, but it's difficult to understand what you really mean when you contradict yourself. Probably the language barrier at play.
