Hey everyone. Here's the fully translated series with an added bonus of a clean opening and ending of the anime series.
Credit for translating goes to: blondiemarimo
Congrats on finishing the series.
Will there be a softsubbed version or will you make the sub files available? Hardsubbing is outdated by about 15 years at this point, and watermarking the release with the translator's info for the entire runtime is more than questionable.
> watermarking the release with the translator’s info for the entire runtime is more than questionable.
for what's worth, this is even against Nyaa rules Lol
@HowUnfortunate that rule only applies to remakes, and since this is an original release, it's exempt from that rule. Doesn't change how dumb the watermarking is of course.
@Seasoned_Crab it's Japanese audio with English hardsubs and a watermark.
@Darkonius Hey. Sorry that it took so long to reply to your question. As of now, I'll be taking a break since I've been working with the translator for almost a year as I go work on my other projects. So there won't be softsubs for now. But maybe once I'm done with those projects, I can figure out how to create softsubs without the water marks.
@Seasoned_Crab As Darkonius points out, this is sub.
@Troy168 did your translator give you .ass (or similar) subtitle files that you then converted into hardsubs with VLC? If that's the case, just use a muxing tool like MKVToolNix to create a muxed .mkv with your raw video and the sub file (and go into the files and remove the watermark lines, or at least make it so they only appear at the start of the episode or something); the result will be a softsubbed video file. If he sent you already hardsubbed video files, then ask for the subtitle files. If you can't get the subtitle files for whatever reason, someone would have to OCR the subtitles from the video, which is a very work-intensive process.
@Darkonius To answer your question, the translator has sent the videos already hardsubbed. Aside from a couple of .ass files, I have no means of getting most of the subtitle files. I'll try to ask the translator for the subfiles, but chances are, the translator is quite busy translating the other shows.
Any update on this? No matter how busy your TL is, sending over a few files should be a matter of minutes, and honestly you should have received those files from the start.
@Darkonius Sorry about that, but I had to deal with a real-life situation that has prevented me from getting on the computer for quite some time. I also didn't get the chance to ask the TL for the sub files before this real-life situation hits me. Now that I have access to the computer, I had sent the TL for the sub files and I'm waiting for a reply. I'll let you know if there's anything changes on my end.
I did not @JackAssborn, didn't had the time to do a proper release, but here you've only the subs: https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/3c97fc32-c72d-49b0-8291-dc582ac6b786
Anyone feel free to do a revision (OP and ED at least needs it)
@RyzakiT
I used the old and good VideoSubFinder — the key is getting the configuration values right, which depends on the source. Once that's set up, you can go through all the episodes quite easily.
You can use SubRip if you prefer. Both will generate images with the subs, with SubRip you can even apply avs script directly.
I didn’t do this step in this case, but sometimes I do when the source is a mess and I can't get good results through configuration alone.
Or if you want to improve how any OCR works, you can apply an AVS script beforehand, like this, works fine for 50% of scenarios:
```
Greyscale() # White and Black
Levels(0, 1, 255, 255, 0) #Invert colors by levels
Tweak(coring=false, cont=10, bright=-250) # Remove image while keeping subtitle
ConvertToRGB24()
```
OR if the subs are not in a good black you can do this, works in 99% of scenarios:
```
Greyscale() # White and Black
#Invert("YUV") #Invert colors by yuv
Levels(0, 1, 255, 255, 0) #Invert colors by levels
DAA()
FastLineDarkenMOD(strength=100, luma_cap=300, threshold=10, thinning=0) #make black black
Tweak(coring=false, cont=10, bright=-250) # Remove image while keeping subtitle
FastLineDarkenMOD(strength=100, luma_cap=300, threshold=10, thinning=0) #make black fucking black
MAA2().Santiag()
FastLineDarkenMOD(strength=100, luma_cap=300, threshold=10, thinning=0) #make black fucking black black
Maa2().Santiag()
ConvertToRGB24()
```
In the end you end up with an white image where you'll only see the subs. So you can use directly on SubRip or convert it first, your choice.
And this was the 1st step, get images for all lines of subs. (you'll lose like 1~4h for getting the settings good for all lines, at least the 1st time, and it takes like 3~4min per episode to generate all images)

2nd step, using tesseract for OCR the images generated on step1, you can use SubtitleEdit for this. (and this takes like 2 minutes to OCR)
